Recital to feature composers 'Lighting a Candle'
An upcoming Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø faculty recital, "Lighting a Candle," will bring together sonatas by two composers who lived through the dark times of the Holocaust and the Stalin era.
Tour: Charles Haag's Art and Archive
Kimberly La Palm and Lisa Huntsha will lead a tour on artworks and archived papers of Charles Haag, a Swedish-American sculptor and woodcarver.
Student recital: Anne Bak, cello
Anne Bak, a sophomore from Peoria, Ill., majoring in music, will perform on cello. She will be accompanied by pianist Robert Elfline, associate professor of music.
Student recital: Grant Estes, cello
Grant Estes, a junior from Moline, Ill., majoring in music, will perform on the cello.
Opera Quad Cities dinner and program
Opera Quad Cities will hold its inaugural gala dinner and a program by local performers including Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's Shelley Cooper, soprano.
Yarn-bombing event
The campus community is invited to a yarn-bombing event with artist Carol Hummel.
Hummel visited the Quad Cities last fall for the first yarn-bomb public art project at Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø, Longfellow School and the Figge Art Museum.
