Start your day with a continental breakfast! Enjoy light breakfast options and coffee while picking up your orientation materials.

9:30-10:30 a.m. | Spring Welcome Check-In and Resource Fair (Mandatory)

Stop by the Gerber Center to pick up your required Welcome Week folder, which includes your schedule with key information for the day ahead. You¡¯ll also have the chance to connect with a variety of on-campus resources to learn how they can support your success at Augie.

Students can stop by to connect with the Admissions staff and get help with any questions related to the new student checklist. Staff will be available to review required steps, provide guidance and ensure all enrollment tasks are completed before the first day of classes.

Join Dr. Wes Brooks, Dean of Students, and Dr. Gauri Pitale, Vice President for Culture and Connection, as they officially welcome you to the Viking community. This session will introduce you to the values that shape our campus culture and is the perfect way to kick off your college experience.

10:45-11 a.m. | Meet Your Viking Mentor (Mandatory)

Take a few minutes to meet your Viking Mentor. They¡¯ll help guide you through the day and answer any questions you may have as you get started. Your Viking Mentor is a key resource not just during Spring Welcome, but throughout your first semester at Augie.

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. | Campus Tour

Explore Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s beautiful campus during a guided tour. Led by your Viking Mentor, the tour will give you a firsthand look at everything Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø has to offer.

11-11:30 a.m. | Guide to Working On-Campus & Beyond (Mandatory for international students)

Learn how to apply for a Social Security number, find student jobs through Handshake, and connect with the Career Development Office for support with on-campus job  preparation. You¡¯ll also discover resources to help you explore career options and plan for your future.

12:30-1:30 p.m. | Lunch and Short Goodbye
Gerber Center for Student Life Dining Hall
Gather in the dining hall with your family for a relaxed lunchtime together. It¡¯s a final chance to share a meal and enjoy some conversation before orientation begins. After lunch, students say their goodbyes and head off to start their required orientation sessions, officially beginning their transition into the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø community

1:30-2 p.m. | Spring Welcome Kick-Off with Viking Mentors (Mandatory)

2-2:45 p.m. | Augie Academic 101 (Mandatory)

2:45-4:30 p.m. | Augie Success Informational Sessions (Mandatory)

All students will participate in a required round-robin informational session designed to lay the foundation for a successful start at Augie. During this session, students will rotate through three 35-minute breakout workshops focused on key aspects of the first-year experience, which are listed below. Attendance will be taken at each breakout and counts toward your attendance grade for FY-100 or LSC-300.

  • Getting Involved on Campus
  • Setting Yourself Up for Success
  • Focusing on Your Wellbeing and Safety

4:30-4:45 p.m. | Spring Welcome Wrap-Up with Viking Mentors (Mandatory)
Hanson Hall of Science
Take a moment to check in with your orientation group and reflect on the first day. This is an opportunity to ask any questions you didn¡¯t get a chance to ask earlier in the day.

4:45-6 p.m. | Dinner with Peer Group
Gerber Center for Student Life, dining hall
Enjoy dinner with your Viking Mentor and peer group. This is a great chance to relax, grab a meal, and spend time getting to know the students in your class.

6-7 p.m. | Bingo
Gerber Center for Student Life, G?vle room 3
Join the Student Life Programming Board for a fun and lively game of bingo. Meet new people, win cash prizes, and kick off your college experience with a great time. 

7-9 p.m. | Local Shopping Excursion
Gerber Center for Student Life, The Brew
Need to pick up some dorm essentials? Join us for a shopping trip. The van (departing from the Gerber Center at 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.) will take you to local stores so you can grab everything you need. The van will pick up students to return to campus at 8 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. is an opportunity to ask any questions you didn¡¯t get a chance to ask earlier in the day.

9 a.m.-1 p.m. | Bank Account Set-up
Gerber Center for Student Life, G?vle rooms
Quad City Bank & Trust will be available to help students who are interested in opening a U.S. bank account. This is completely optional. *If you plan to open an account, please bring your passport (for international students) or a valid ID (for domestic students), and be prepared to provide your Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø mailing address (including box number) and your email address.*

1-4 p.m. | Advising and Registration (Mandatory)
Thomas Tredway Library, second floor
Students will meet with an advisor and review their schedules. A specific check-in time will be sent to your Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø email.

6-7 p.m. | Game Night
Thomas Tredway Library
Stop by the library for a fun, low-key game night! Explore the space, learn about study spots and academic resources, and get to know how librarians can support you throughout your time at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø all while playing quick, interactive games.
