Rehearsals: Monday-Thursday 4:15-5:30.

This highly select mixed ensemble performs a wide variety of music in major concerts, special events and on tour. The choir has released a number of recordings, and has performed on commercial and public radio and network television.

The Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Choir requires a high level of musicianship and a serious time commitment. Students from any academic field may audition. The choir rehearses daily, and gives as many as 20 performances each year. The choir also takes a annual tour.

Students in the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Choir also participate in the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Oratorio Society.

The Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Choir will tour Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas, March 22-29, 2025.

Jon Hurty directs the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Choir.

Established in 1931, the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Choir has been conducted by Dr. Jon Hurty since 1996. Under Hurty¡¯s direction, the choir has performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago, Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York City, as well as many major cathedrals and concert venues in Sweden, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, Austria, Japan, Korea, Spain and France. 

The choir focuses on the highest quality choral literature from the Renaissance through the 21st century. It has released a number of recordings and is frequently invited to perform on commercial and public radio, as well as network television.

Dr. Jon Hurty honored for excellence in choral music

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's Dr. Jon Hurty has received the Harold A. Decker Award from the Illinois Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association in recognition of his exceptional leadership and contributions to choral music. He has been creating memorable performances with Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø students since 1996.

Vocal Valentines

Delivering love songs on Valentine¡¯s Day

Members of Phi Mu Alpha¨CZeta Beta sang love songs to surprised students, faculty and staff in classrooms and offices across campus on Valentine¡¯s Day. The music fraternity rehearsed for months, and delivered no fewer than 100 vocal valentines.

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Jenny Lind Ensemble to host Treble Choir concert and workshop

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble, directed by Dr. Michael Zemek, will collaborate with high school choirs from Davenport Central, Davenport North and Pleasant Valley High Schools to perform "Anne Frank: A Living Voice" on March 4 at 5:30 p.m.

Webster Vocal Competition

Students in pursuit of a vocal career will compete for monetary awards. Faculty judges select winners in two divisions at this award recital.
