Film scholarships

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø awards scholarships each year to first-year and transfer students who participate in our film program. Film scholarships award up to $2,000 annually. To renew, students must take a film class every year. Students do not need to major or minor in film in order to qualify.

Note: Current Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø students are not eligible to apply for new scholarships.

The scholarship requires an application, links to completed videos and an in-person or virtual interview. As part of their applications, students are asked to attach a r¨¦sum¨¦ detailing their video/film works completed to date

Registration opens at the beginning of the school year. The final deadline for applications is March 15.

Process

In person:

  1. Fill out one of the forms under "Review dates" below, or request an alternate date.
  2. Submit an artist¡¯s resum¨¦.
    1. Your resum¨¦ should outline video/film works completed to date, including credited role(s) on those videos and/or a description of specific work performed on each production and/or film production related experience.
    2. Share links to completed videos outlined on resum¨¦.
  3. Attend an in-person interview. To request an interview after application materials have been submitted, email film@augustana.edu.

Virtual:

  1. Fill out the form for a virtual review.
  2. Submit an artist¡¯s resum¨¦.
    1. Your resum¨¦ should outline video/film works completed to date, including credited role(s) on those videos and/or a description of specific work performed on each production and/or film production related experience.
    2. Share links to completed videos outlined on resum¨¦.

Emma Watts

Documentary by Watts ¡¯25 featured in QC Times, WVIK

Film/theatre performance double major Emma Watts  ¡¯25 is producing a short documentary about the radium girls, a group of factory workers who ingested potentially deadly amounts of radium while working at the Radium Dial Company in Ottawa, Ill., in the 1920s and 1930s.

Frank Harts

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Film to host actor, writer and director Frank Harts

The event will include screenings of Harts¡¯ award-winning short films ¡°Be True to Your School¡± and ¡°Two Wongs."

Symposium Day brings big ideas to campus

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's fall Symposium Day 2024 invited big ideas from any and all disciplines, welcoming presentations from students, faculty and staff, and distinguished guests ¡ª including keynote speaker Dr. Roosevelt Mont¨¢s from Columbia University and Dr. Chris Hedlin '11 from the University of Notre Dame.
