Wieland becomes Lincoln Academy student laureate

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø senior Abigail M. Wieland was honored with the Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement Award Nov. 11 in Springfield, making her a student laureate of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois.

The awards are presented for excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities to seniors from each of the state's four-year, degree-granting colleges and universities, and one student from the community colleges in Illinois.

Each winner receives a Lincoln Academy Student Laureate Medallion, a certificate of achievement and $1,000. 

Wieland is a 2014 graduate of Rock Island High School and is majoring in biology at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø.

This is the 43rd year Lincoln Academy has celebrated students' excellence in Illinois.
