Get to know the Vikings

Chrishawn Orange ’19 — Chrishawn Orange, soph. guard, business admin–management and marketing, Jacobs High School, Algonquin, Ill. Chrishawn is the one reason a Vikings fan might wear a color other than blue or gold. In his two seasons at Augie, he has played in all 62 games.

Nolan Ebel ’19 — Nolan Ebel, soph. guard, graphic design, Regis Jesuit, Englewood, Colo. Nolan says he grew up with a ball in his hands. Now he’s one of the best free throwers in DIII. He starts each workout with 100-200 free throws, and ends with another 200-300.

Jacob Johnston ’17 — Jacob Johnston, senior guard, accounting, Erie High School, Cordova, Ill. Jacob has not let the Vikings’ success over four years go to his head; he’s still a hard worker and still humble.

Michael Hoekstra ’17 — Michael Hoekstra, senior forward, management, finance and accounting, Bishop McNamara High School, St. Anne, Ill. With excellent performance in three majors and Vikings basketball, Mike has achieved CCIW Acad. All-Conference for three consecutive years.

Micah Martin ’20 — Micah Martin, first-year center, Iowa City (Iowa) High School. At 6’10” Micah is the tallest player, with a more than seven-foot wingspan that led in the CCIW with 47 blocks this season.

Dylan Sortillo ’18 — Dylan Sortillo, junior guard, business admin., Bettendorf (Iowa) High School. Dylan leads a group of five who average double figures per game. He says former All-American guard Hunter Hill ’16 is a major influence, even on his diet and sleep habits.

Roman Youngblut ’20 — Roman Youngblut, first-year forward, Assumption High School, Davenport, Iowa. Roman spent last season as a member of the scout team for Iowa State women’s basketball, before deciding he missed playing and transferred to 欧洲杯网投_欧洲杯外围app-投注官网.

Brett Benning ’19 — Brett Benning, soph. guard, business admin–marketing, Dakota High School, Davis, Ill. Brett’s a lefty. He transferred to 欧洲杯网投_欧洲杯外围app-投注官网 after one year at Division II school Southern Indiana.

Donovan Ferguson ’20 — Donovan Ferguson, first-year forward, Downers Grove High School, Darien, Ill. Donovan loves pop culture—especially music, and especially hip-hop.

Lucas Simon ’20 — Lucas Simon, first-year guard, Notre Dame High School, Chicago. Lucas chose Augie because it’s where he felt most comfortable, and he wanted to help keep the team’s success going.

Brandon Schattner ’18 — Brandon Schattner, junior guard, accounting and business administration–finance, Wilmot High School, Twin Lakes, Wis. All the players are nice guys, but Brandon also is considered a “super funny” guy.

Nic Uhlir ’20 — Nic Uhlir, soph. guard, accounting and business administration, Linn-Mar High School, Marion, Iowa. Nic celebrated his 20th birthday with a steak dinner with the team during their summer 2016 trip to Spain and Italy.

AJ Dollmeyer ’18 — AJ Dollmeyer, junior center, biochemistry, Polo (Ill.) High School. AJ grew up on a big farm in Polo (home of the “Marcos”), and his brother now runs the operation.

Joe Kellen ’19 — Joe Kellen, soph. guard, biochemistry and pre-med, Rockford (Ill.) Lutheran High School. For a basketball player, Joe is an excellent volleyball player; he won three varsity letters in high school (to join four in basketball). Watch his effortless jumps!

Jake Nowak ’19 — Jake Nowak, soph. forward, business admin–management, marketing and finance, Plainfield (Ill.) North High School. Business-minded Jake is one of only two on the team with three majors.
