In this talk, Dr. Renaud will dispel popular linguistic myths and analyze the frequency with which stigmatized dialectal properties are attested from a sociolinguistic perspective.. Additionally, the gendered nature of the Spanish grammar itself will be addressed in order to explore how linguists and sociolinguists have approached such issues from today¡¯s decreasingly binary, heteronormative perspective.
