Masterworks IV: Joined by a River

The program opens with the subtle and melodic Dawn on the Moscow River by Mussorgsky, colorfully orchestrated by Rimsky-Korsakov. Then, the QCSO continues its tradition of commissioned World Premieres with Michael Abels¡¯ new work inspired by our river journey. Adored Concertmaster Naha Greenholtz will thrill you in Mozart¡¯s playful Violin Concerto #5. The program closes with Mozart¡¯s majestic Prague Symphony and Johann Strauss, Jr.¡¯s evergreen Blue Danube Waltz.
