Lecture: Polar photographer Morten Hilmer

Danish nature photographer Morten Hilmer will speak. A gallery preview will be held at 6 p.m. in the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Teaching Museum of Art, and his lecture will move to Hanson Hall, room 304, and begin at 7 p.m.

His work is part of the current museum exhibit, "Art above 66¡ã 33', in collaboration with the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Center for Polar Studies.

For two years Hilmer served in the Danish army and joined a special force that uses dog sleds to patrol the north-eastern coast of Greenland. Since then he has spent more time in Greenland meeting the local people and working on photography projects. His work is chronicled in the documentary "Silence of the North."
