The Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble is a select treble ensemble for those wishing to develop advanced choral skills and a better understanding of various styles of choral music composed for sopranos and altos. The ensemble¡¯s chosen repertoire ¡ª from folk to contemporary, ancient to modern ¡ª focuses on moving forward and upward, overcoming challenges and celebrating compassion. 

The Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble performs concerts on campus each term, at community events and on their annual tour. The ensemble¡¯s most recent tour was a three-day, three-performance tour, ¡°Yonder Come Day,¡± in Indiana and Ohio.

The ensemble is named after Jenny Lind (1820-1887), a Swedish opera singer known as the ¡°Swedish Nightingale¡± and considered the finest coloratura of her day.

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Choir to tour Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas in March

The Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Choir, under the direction of Dr. Jon Hurty, will perform concerts in Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas March 22-28, followed by a home concert on April 5 in Davenport.

Symphonic Band Sesquicentennial Celebration Weekend

On Nov. 23-24, more than 200 alumni, parents and friends of the college attended the 150th anniversary celebration of the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Symphonic Band (ASB). Participants came to campus from as far away as British Columbia; Washington, D.C.; the Netherlands; Dallas; Colorado; and California.

The Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Symphonic Band (formerly the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Concert Band) will celebrate its 150th anniversary during a weekend-long celebration Nov. 22-24, 2024.
