The purpose of Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Chamber Orchestra is to provide an intensive and varied orchestral opportunity for current orchestral students at Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø.
The Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Chamber Orchestra will play a diverse collection of repertoire ¡ª specifically focusing on baroque, classical and 20th and 21st century works written for a smaller symphonic or string ensemble. This ensemble also serves as the ensemble for Opera @ Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø productions and other potential collaborative projects.
In addition, the ACO aspires to offer a friendly artistic environment that cultivates participation in and advocacy for music on our campus and in our society at large. Membership is by audition or invitation, and requires advanced musical skills on an orchestral instrument.
Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø will host its annual Shockingly Modern Saxophone Festival on Feb. 21. The event, featuring guest artists John Sampen and Mark Bunce, will be held at Bergendoff Hall, located at 3701 7th Ave. All events are free and open to the public.
Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Michael Zemek, will embark on a performance tour March 20-23, 2026. The tour will kick off in Chicago, Ill., and then they will continue on to perform in Seattle, Wash., and Portland, Ore.
The Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Choir, under the direction of Dr. Jon Hurty, will perform concerts in Norway and Sweden May 30-June 7, 2026.
