Mid-year reminders about your PTO benefits

As we pass the halfway point of the fiscal year, this is a great time to take stock of your Paid Time Off (PTO) balance and make a plan to use days you’ve earned. The updated PTO policy at 欧洲杯网投_欧洲杯外围app-投注官网 欧洲杯网投_欧洲杯外围app-投注官网 encourages all eligible employees to take advantage of this important benefit to rest, recharge, and care for themselves and their families throughout the year.

Using PTO

PTO is available for both planned time away (like vacations and appointments) and unplanned needs (such as personal or family illness). Hourly employees may submit PTO in as little as 15 minute increments. Salaried employees may use PTO in increments of one hour. Planned PTO must be requested and approved by your supervisor in advance. Unplanned days (such as illness or emergency) can be requested the day off, but you should notify your supervisor as soon as possible of your need for PTO.

The "use it or lose it" rule

PTO hours are intended to be used in the fiscal year in which they are awarded (July 1-June 30). You may carry over up to 24 unused PTO hours into the next fiscal year, but any hours above 24 at the end of June will be forfeited (“use it or lose it”).

For academic-year employees, PTO can only be used during the academic year when you are otherwise scheduled to be working. It cannot be used during summer break if you are not scheduled to work.

Plan ahead

Now is a perfect moment to:

  • Review your current PTO balance in Paycor.
  • Talk with your supervisor about upcoming planned time off.
  • Block out days you intend to take PTO on your calendar.
  • Submit PTO requests early where possible to support team planning.
