Out of Darkness: 'Two Remain'
"Two Remain," a two-act chamber opera, is based on the true stories of two Holocaust survivors, conducted by Ernesto Estigarribia, Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø director of orchestral activities.
In Act I, Krystyna ?ywulska, assisted by ghosts of Auschwitz, shares her story of survival with a journalist. In Act II Gad Beck is haunted by his first love, the poet Manfred Lewin, who perished in Auschwitz.
The performance is part of a community-wide project, Out of Darkness: Holocaust Messages for Today, a Quad Cities community project that includes programming for children and adults to promote dignity, diversity, equity, democratic values, human rights, and the power of the human spirit.
