Janice Budd Gockel '68 will speak on "Using Our Gifts to Make the World a Better Place." This music-focused discussion will include Gockel's life and accomplishments as well as advice for current and aspiring musicians.
Gockel, a viola performance major at Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø, has focused her career on enriching the lives of others. As the founder of Seattle¡¯s first community music school, Music Center of the Northwest, she established an inclusive organization dedicated to providing high-quality music education and programming to students of all ages and backgrounds, regardless of prior music experience or financial resources.
She also will speak on the topic "Leveraging the Creative Mind in the World of Work" at 4 p.m. Friday in Old Main 132.
