Food Rescue Workshop

Senior Lauren Clapp of Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø will join representatives of other local institutions and businesses for a Food Rescue Workshop from 2-4:30 p.m. They will talk about rescuing food to reduce costs while making donations, feeding animals and composting.

According to Scott County, 40 percent of food in the U.s. is thrown out. Yet, 21,590 people in Scott County and 17,330 people in Rock Island County are food insecure.

In addition to Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø, participants will include Baked Bread and Beer Co., the Adler Theatre/River Center, Panera, as well as regional food waste experts.
