DESCRIPTION:The Akvavit Theatre Company of Chicago is returning once again to Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø to perform two Norwegian\, one-act plays:&nbsp\;"Goliath" by Maria Tryti Venner?d and "The Returning" by Fredrik Brattberg.\n\n"Goliath" is a modern retelling of the biblical story ¨C this time as an epic family drama. Once outdone by his heroic little brother\, David\, Goliath must cope with the legacy of his larger than life sibling. Jealousy abounds. Has the time come to take his revenge?\n\nIn "The Returning"\, a mother and a father grieve the loss of their son\, Gustav\, assumed to be dead. After the funeral\, they return to their lives. But one day there is a knock on the door¡­\n\nAkvavit Theatre Company specializes in bringing contemporary Nordic plays to the United States&nbsp\;in English translation. Akvavit performed the play\, ¡°Hitler on the Roof: A Play for Two Clowns\,¡± at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø in April 2018.\n\nThese performances are free\, open to the public\, and sponsored by Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s Scandinavian Studies Program&nbsp\;and the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation.\n
