DESCRIPTION:The Mississippi Bend Players will present present Neil Simon's "Biloxi Blues" June 14-16 and June 21-23.\n\nFriday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m.\n\nThe semi-autobiographical play is the second in a trilogy\, following "Brighton Beach Memoirs\," which the Players staged last summer. \;\n\nWhen the audience met Eugene Jerome in "Brighton Beach Memoirs\," he was coping with adolescence in 1930s Brooklyn. In "Biloxi Blues" he is a young army recruit during WW II\, going through basic training and learning about life and love along with some harsher lessons\, at boot camp in Biloxi\, Miss.\n\n"Biloxi Blues" won the Tony Award for Best Play in 1985.\n\nThe play is the first of the Mississippi Bend Players 2019 summer series: "The Military Through the Years." It will be followed by "A Green River" July 5-7 and 12-14\, and "Dames at Sea" July 26-28 and Aug. 2-4\n
