She has spoken around the world about her fight for indigenous rights in Canada. In 2012\, she received the Order of Canada.\n\nShe also has starred in documentary films ("Angry Inuk" and "Arctic Defenders")\, served as a Inuit culture guide on tourist adventures in northern Canada\, and served as a mentor for the Sedna Epic Expedition\, an all-female team of snorkelers through the Northwest Passage.\n
