Today's talk will be by Simone Roby\, fellowship instructor of psychology\, on "Black/Queer Intersections."\n\nLectures are free and open to the public as well as the campus community. Refreshments are served. \;\n\nRoby is a Ph.D. candidate in counseling psychology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She explores intersectional identity experiences of Black and African American college students attending predominantly white institutions. \;\n\nThis presentation will explore the ways overlapping systems of oppression (e.g. racism\, sexism\, heterosexism\, classism\, and ableism) normalize ¡°mainstream¡± LGBT identities by perpetuating anti-Blackness.
