Students collect field data on habitat restoration and management using GPS units\, field notes\, and photographs\, and\, using the data collected\, create digital maps and conduct spatial analyses in a Geographic Information System (GIS).\n\nFieldwork\, photography\, and GIS are done at Green Wing Environmental Laboratory\, an Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø field station located near Amboy\, Ill.\n\nResearch in Field Biology runs every day for about two weeks beginning immediately after graduation in May 2019\, and enrollment is limited to eight students.\n\nBoth GIS and photography are taught during this class so no previous experience is necessary. Moreover\, each student will be provided with a laptop computer with GIS and a DSLR camera for photography for the duration of the course.\n\nThe cost to enroll in Research in Field Biology is equivalent to an on campus 3-credit summer school class at Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø (~$2\,600) and covers tuition and room/board for two weeks at Green Wing. Augie Choice may be used to help offset most of the cost. \;\n URL;VALUE=URI:/about-us/events/2018/research-field-biology-info-session SUMMARY:Research in Field Biology info session DTSTART:20181116T214500Z END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
